I started sewing when I was 11 after taking a sewing class. It just proved this was my calling and passion. I began sewing for my family from the ages of 12-14. By the age of 15, I had started a customer base. My first job was at a sewing factory in Seattle then moved on to Pacific Fabrics. I developed their bridal department from the ground up and gained my first bridal customer who was a coworker. This opened the door for me to pursue my ultimate passion of custom bridal and evening wear, original and reproduction. My business started out of my home as The Silver Thread and allowed me to raise my two girls and follow my dreams. Hundreds of dresses later, I switched gears towards alterations. After a 14 year period of doing alterations for other companies, I decided to return to my own business. Now with my own storefront and as My Silver Thread, I am able to get back to where I was meant to be.
